In its essence Gist is a marriage: the marriage of classical funk elements with modern electronic paradigms.

 

Gist's eponymous debut dropped in June of 2015 after several years of arranging, tracking and mixing.

 

About half of "Gist" was composed between Saint Louis, Missouri (University City to be precise) and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Then in 2012 Mitch relocated from Missouri to Miami where Gist has been based ever since.

 

"Gist" celebrates a wide range of influence from the heavy funk singles of the 60's to the psychedelic funk albums of the 70's all the way through the pop funk styles of the 80's.
